Today, I saw a gray-bearded man in a dirty plaid red flannel jacket And old tennis shoes Having a spirited, heated even, conversation with a telephone pole.
On September 18, I am going to participate in a panel discussion called "Behind the Story: Author Thoughts" at the Salida branch of the Stanislaus County Library. Each writer will talk about the writing and publishing process for a few minutes. Then there will be a general Q and A session, followed by a book signing. The program starts at noon and ends at 2:30.
Nothing to Declare
The Louisville CCCC trip went well. The conference and my presentation were fine. The highlights were visits to Churchill Downs and the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville. Here's message to those of you who fly often: if you can't carry it, it ain't a carry-on.
So now we're in the middle of springtime, and I'm thinking I need to organize a local reading or two before the middle of summer.
Thanks
I want give lots of thanks to Abigail Schmidt for working on this blog for the old man.
The Old Man and the Blog
Welcome to my new blog (there was no old blog). Feel free to laugh where appropriate.
I direct a Master's program at Holy Names University called The Writer's Craft. Our program allows students to combine professional writing, creative writing, and teaching writing in one degree. Also, I just got a new dual-sport motorcycle, a Suzuki DRZ400s. Actually, it's just new to me. And I drink too much diet Pepsi.
